course description The main purpose of this class is to understand how the entire Bible fits together. The main theme of the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is God's plan to redeem fallen people through the person and work of Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament God begins to unveil this plan through a series of promises and covenants. In the New Testament we see these promises and covenants fulfilled. course outline Session 1 - Bridges between the Old and New Testaments and the Messiah Session 2 - Jesus in the Synoptics Session 3 - Establishing the Church (primarily Jewish) Session 4 - Spreading the reach of the Church (reaching Gentiles and the law of God) Session 5 - Paul’s missionary journeys (The mission of the church) Session 6 - Paul’s missionary journeys (Prison letters) Session 7 - Purity of life and doctrine (1&2 Peter; Jude) Session 8 - Letters to pastors (1&2 Timothy; Titus) Session 9 - Hebrews and the supremacy of Jesus Session 10 - End of the apostolic age and John’s writings |
