D-Group is short for Discipleship Group. If you are serious about growing in a walk with Jesus Christ, and willing to make a commitment with other middle school students, this opportunity is for you! Join a gender-based small group of students in your grade, and dive into your journey with God. Simply show up at the Loft South welcome table at church on a Wednesday night, and we will plug you in! D-Groups run from 7-8:30pm.
We understand that it can be difficult to connect in a new environment, especially a big one! So here is what we encourage you to do: grab a friend and show up on Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings as well as any upcoming events. Give it a month - it takes time to build new friendships. We look forward to meeting you soon and are excited to have you as a part of our middle school community!
If you are new, bring the Constance Consent Waiver and Release Form when you come. If you have a request of who you would like to be in your D-Group, contact Cindy Jones.
We are still looking for a few volunteers to lead D-Groups for 2011-2012. If you are interested, download the Middle School Ministries Volunteer Interest Packet and turn in the application to Cindy Jones, Director of Middle School Ministries.
What is Alternative Night?Alternative Night is an evening for D-Groups to do an activity away from church. The goal is for groups to further bond doing an activity together away from church. Activities vary from going to a home to going out for ice cream or bowling. Times may vary based on what the group is doing. The dates for Alternative Nights this year are October 5, January 25 and April 4. Contact your student's small group leader for Alternative Night details.
What is Worship Night? On Worship Nights all middle school students stay together for a 90 minute worship time at church during our typical D-Groups time 7-8:30pm. We incorporate interactive activities, special speakers and video. Worship Nights this year are November 16, February 22 and April 18.
