Tonight's post is brought to you by one of our adult leaders, Kimberly Nickel:
Today we navigated the streets of downtown Chicago as we enjoyed our "rec" day. Together, we enjoyed the sights of the skyline from 103 floors above the city from the sky deck of the Willis Tower AKA Sears Tower. Students braved the glass floor and had fun posing with the skyline behind them. Our touring of Chicago included traipsing the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park with many iconic pictures taken in "The Bean".
Students have been setting the bar high this week as they have served the people they've encountered on our many different projects. Today, thirteen students gave up part of their free time to serve meals to homeless on the streets. They did this gladly and with joy, they were an example to me as they stepped out in faith. We topped off our Chicago experience with the goodness of deep-dish pizza from Lou Malnati's.
We closed out our last night in Chicago with a time of sharing and student's were quick to share about all they had seen and experienced. Our hearts are full as we prepare to come home and share more about our time here in Chi-town.
We're hitting the road tomorrow morning around 9:30am. Prayers for safe travels would be appreciated!
