Will I understand the message even if I don't know much about the Bible? Our messages are prepared to connect with your life by presenting the ageless wisdom of Scripture in a creative, yet straight-forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals who are investigating what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus as well as those who have been committed Christ-followers for many years. We hope you'll find our services to be incredibly helpful in your personal spiritual growth.
What if I come from a different faith background? While Constance is associated with the Evangelical Free Church of America in its denominational affiliation, people who attend come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds - Catholic, Lutheran, etc. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that.
Do I have to dress up?Nope. At Constance Free Church, you'll see lots of people in jeans and khakis and not so many in suits and dresses. You're welcome to dress casually and come as you are.
Where are the hymnals? At Constance Free Church, you'll encounter a wide variety of worship music styles each week that you can relate to and which reflect our current culture. Our worship band (watchword:truth) leads attenders in modern, upbeat songs of celebration as well as more intimate songs of worship. Live video and song lyrics are projected on the screen so you can have your hands free, look up, and engage in worship wholeheartedly.
How do people at Constance express worship?"Worship" involves communication with God from our hearts. We believe in a variety of different expressions in worshiping God. On the stage, you might see worship leaders clapping or raising their hands while they sing and the musicians playing various instruments. Sometimes visual or performing arts are also incorporated into our services as acts of worship. As a Constance attendee, you are welcome to worship God in a way you feel expresses your heart toward Him. For some, that's quietly reflecting on the words and, for others, that's clapping and singing out.
What different music styles are available?Constance Free Church offers three distinctly different styles of worship music during our three weekend services. For more information about our weekend services, click here!
Movie clips, drama and videos - in church?Often it's helpful during a message to illustrate real life situations through a movie clip, dramatic sketch or other creative ways. Sometimes these outlets may not be from "Christian" resources, but we often find great insights into the human condition from them. We screen words and subject content closely for use in our church services.
Is there something for the kids?Constance Free Church has wonderful programming for your entire family. Programming for children (birth-5th grade) is available during all of our weekend services and programming for students (6th-12th grade) is available on Sunday mornings during our 9:00 and 10:45 am services. While parents are peacefully enjoying the service, kids can have fun and learn about God at their level. For more information, browse around our website, ask any host at the door, or visit one of the Sonday Adventure Registration Desks located in the north education wing.
Are you going to ask me for money? If you are new to Constance Free Church, please don't feel any pressure to give. People will never be pressured to give money here, but regular attenders and members are encouraged to invest in the work of ministry at Constance by generously sharing from their God-given resources. The offerings which we receive during our services support the many ministries of our church as well as missions work around the world.
What if I'm not even sure I believe in God?If you haven't made a decision to accept Christ, but would like to know more about it, you're a seeker - and that's a good thing! That means you're asking questions about spiritual things and how they might relate to your life. You are welcome to explore answers to your questions here.
How do I get involved?Attending weekend services is a great start, but we hope you'll move beyond being just part of our weekend crowd. You can further your faith, meet people and learn more about life as a Christ-follower by attending Starting Point.
