About watchword:truth

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

         Romans 15:5-6

By definition, a “watchword” is a word or phrase expressing a person’s or group’s core aim or belief - a guiding principle. As a worship band, our watchword will always be the Truth of God - His Word. One of our most important roles is to prepare people for and help them respond to the truth of God's Word in our local church. So watchword:truth isn’t just a name - it’s an identity that we strive to personify.

We’re committed to serving the local church and we will embody the guiding principles that have always united us. Our music, message, and ideology will always reflect our desire to remain Scripturally sound, culturally relevant, and deeply in love with God. Our songs are written to honor God and help the Church connect meaningfully with Him. Constance Free Church has a long history of encouraging creativity. Our collaborative projects feature the original music of our worship leaders and team members accompanied by the talented musicians of our church.

Dan Leverence is the leader of watchword:truth and loves encouraging artists to use their abilities for God. He has recorded several albums and has been blessed with some unique musical opportunities - including the opportunity to organize and lead a 1000-voice choir for Michael W Smith's concert in the Twin Cities. Dan also makes himself available for ministry to the greater Christian community by consulting with other vocational arts ministry leaders and teaches vocal master classes to church vocal teams.
