Discover Jesus.

The word gospel simply means “good news”. While most major religions are based on an ultimate judgment of your performance, doing enough good to earn your way to God, Christianity is different. The difference is Jesus.

It doesn’t take much to see we live in a broken world. In our humanness, things like selfish pride, hate, and jealousy have led to all sorts of sin that affect the world around us. In a beautiful picture of satisfying both God’s holiness and perfection with His love and grace for humanity, God made the provision Himself by sending His son to be the perfect sacrifice on our behalf. Jesus’ sacrifice satisfies God’s requirement of justice, allowing his perfection to be substituted as our own. It is as if we are declared guilty in a court of law, but the judge himself comes down in our place and serves the court sentence for us.

The central heart of Christianity is this: Jesus Christ died for our sins, was raised three days later (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and by believing in Him, we can be saved (Romans 10:9). That is good news! It is not based on us, but on Jesus. And in response, we can decide to put our trust in him, and follow his ways. It’s out of gratitude for Jesus giving up his life to save ours, that we can give our lives back to him. Deciding to follow Jesus is the best and most important decision you’ll ever make, and we’d love to help you on your journey!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
— John 3:16

How can I become a Christian?

Becoming a follower of Jesus starts by simply coming to Him as you are. You don’t need to first follow a bunch of rules or good deeds. To become a Christian, you simply need to invite Jesus into your life, and believe that Jesus is God. Look at what this scripture says.

“If you declare with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9

Once you confess and believe, your sins are forgiven and your relationship with God begins! If you would like to follow Jesus and become a Christian, you can pray a prayer of faith right now:

“Thank you, God, for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sin. Sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life and the brokenness it has caused me and others. Please come into my life, forgive me of my sin, and become the Lord of my life. Amen.”
