Our last full day in Haiti. We began our day with church at Hope Rising. Everyone loved the worship and the message and it was such a blessing to see the unity of the body of Christ and have a family even when we are so far from home! Even though we do not share a common language or common culture, we share the same faith in the same God who is God from generation to generation and will be worshiped by people from every tribe, tongue, and nation!
After church, we packed up and headed to the beach! We had fun enjoying a delicious lunch from a local restaurant, doing some souvenir shopping, swimming, and getting more sunburnt than we anticipated.
In the evening, several of us took a hike up one of the hills and got to see some beautiful scenery. We made tacos for supper (Happy Cinco de Mayo!) and celebrated Aleece’s birthday with Rice Krispy Bars! We also debriefed and talked logistics for our travel day tomorrow. It was a great day to relax, take in our time here, and prepare for the physical and emotional journey home.
It was a blessing to have Sabbath rest and spend time together. Please continue to pray for unity and safety, especially as we have a full day of travel tomorrow. Pray also that we have the emotional strength to say our goodbyes and re-enter American culture and Minnesotan climate. Thanks for following along with our journey! God bless!
